I hope you all had a wonderful weekend with your kids. :)
The kids all did a great job on their diorama presentations! :) We are wrapping up the writing of the reports on their animals. We are writing our rough drafts and typing our final drafts. If your child isn't already, please have them work on typingclub.com This will REALLY help them with their keyboarding skills. When they take their state test in 3rd grade, they will have to type some of their responses. Clearly, the more comfortable they feel with the keyboard, the easier it will be for them in the future.
Your child's new spelling list and their graded spelling test were both sent home Friday. Please contact me if you didn't see both of them.
January 20th: Martin Luther King, Jr Day - NO SCHOOL
Each Valentine's Day 2nd grade makes/decorates Valentine treat bags to donate to The Action Center (formerly Jeffco Action Center). Fourth grade will be joining us in this venture this year. We will be asking for specific healthy food donations when putting these together. We will also need several parents to help deliver the bags to The Action Center (on 14th Ave, between Carr and Garrison). We will need to deliver them on the 13th of February, following the Valentine's Day party. Please watch for a SignUp if you would like to donate for this great cause. :)
